Cape Fear HealthNet (CFHN) is not a health insurance company/plan.  We can help you find a medical home and primary care provider where you can get care at a free or reduced cost.  Our Eligibility Enrollment Specialists will take your application, explain our program and if eligible, link you to one of our participating primary care providers.

CFHN will assist you in choosing a medical home and primary care provider.  If you qualify, you may be able to see a primary care physician/provider at a free or reduced cost. 

Your primary care provider can also connect you to free or reduced-cost prescription drugs, labs and diagnostics, mental health services, education programs and care management.  If eligible, you will also have access to our network of specialty care providers through a referral from your primary care provider to our Specialty Care Program.  These services are donated by our specialty care network. 

CFHN services are free.  You may pay a reduced fee- based upon your income and family size- to the primary care provider you choose.  You may have a reduced fee for some labs and diagnostics.  If you qualify for CFHN, you may also qualify for Novant Health’s Charity Care services for in-patient and out-patient services.  Some of these services may have a fee.

Unfortunately, no.  We simply do not have the funds to pay medical bills.  We encourage patients to contact the business office of the hospital in which they owe money and ask about any charity programs available and how to apply.  The website for Novant Health is listed above.
